In the contemporary field of anthropology and esthetics, ethnoscenology studies practices in performing arts from different societies, with the main purpose to temper if not manage any form of ethnocentrism. In accordance with theoretical principles of ethnosciences, ethnoscenology combines a academic scientific approach and the knowledge of practitioners. A network of researchers and practitioners was developed in many countries, and the diversity of works is underlied by academic and artistic national traditions.
Objects of research and methods are so diverse that they led to the creation of a very rich corpus. It is now necessary to create an archive collection which can be easily visited by all partners, and which will allow research development. Actually, there is no complete documentation about the history of the field: biographies, courses, symposiums, publications, events.
Our goals: collecting, protecting and preserving ethnoscenology archives ; organizing and digitizing data ; placing documentation at the service of researchers ; creating an "innovative" platform. In order to reach these goals, our program will last three years.
